    About Alex

    Educated at Sarah Lawrence College, Alex earned a B.A. with a diverse array of coursework ranging from physics to linguistics to theatre. With over 7 years of academic tutoring under his belt, Alex has specialized in college admissions exam preparation since 2016. In that time, he’s written content for SAT, ACT, and SAT Subject Test guides, helping create two dozen full length practice tests and over a thousand practice questions. Alex has helped several students achieve perfect scores on the Math 2 SAT Subject Test and attain dramatic score increases on all sections of the SAT and ACT.

    As a high school student, Alex earned his IB Diploma with exemplary performance. He scored in the 99th percentile on the SAT and achieved perfect scores on the AP Calculus AB and IB Spanish SL exams.

    Alex enjoys establishing an easy-going rapport with his students, helping them feel comfortable enough to discuss their academic struggles and feel confident that they can learn from mistakes. He injects a bit of humor into each of his sessions and makes sure to tailor his approach to each student’s personality.

    • Alex knows the phrase “I would like earrings that go with my eyes” in 12 languages, including Somali, Urdu, and ASL.
    • Alex was in the original cast of the first-ever production of the 17th-century play The Unnatural Tragedy.
