    About Arun

After graduating from Yale, Arun became an inaugural member of NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts’ Hemispheric Institute of Politics and Performance EMERGENYC Program for Young Artists of Color. After working to promote gender equity on campus as the Equity and Policy Post-Graduate Associate of The Women Faculty Forum at Yale University, she consulted for Minority Rights Group International. There, she helped implement street theater to combat racism in several countries in Africa, the Middle East, and The Dominican Republic. She eventually decided to return to her roots by starting her own non-profit, and she now serves as the Executive Director of The Kumari Project which educates and empowers orphans in Nepal, from where she was adopted. She is passionate about empowering children, cultivating their strengths, and honoring their individuality through education and one-on-one tutoring.
