    About Eric

Eric began his career as an educator 10 years ago, serving as a public school language arts and social studies teacher on the south side of Chicago while simultaneously working as a private test-prep tutor in the city’s elite north shore suburbs. Eric can relate to students and families from a broad range of backgrounds through a combination of humor, kindness, and mutual respect.

Earning perfect scores on the SAT and ACT Math sections in high school, Eric has a knack for strengthening fundamentals in a supportive setting where students regard mistakes not as setbacks but rather opportunities to grow. A professional writer, Eric is also a masterful verbal instructor, demystifying the perceived objectiveness of the exam by presenting intuitive strategies and encouraging students to trust their instincts. Throughout each program, Eric plays many roles including teacher, coach, and cheerleader, helping students maintain zen-like focus on the process, rather than the outcome, and relieving any test-related anxieties.

By approaching the material with a sense of excitement and athletic rigor, students are autonomously motivated to break personal records and realize their fullest potential. In his free time Eric enjoys stand-up comedy, vintage arcade machines, and performing at The Magic Castle.
