    About James

    James graduated with honors from Harvard University where he received a B.A. in Organismic and Evolutionary Biology. While at Harvard, James was hired to tutor fellow undergraduates in biology and soon discovered a passion for one-on-one teaching. For the past several years, James has pursued this passion for education, tutoring students from elementary school to college in a wide range of subjects.

    His areas of expertise include mathematics, physics, chemistry, and biology, while his strong background in languages and literature afford James equal skill as an instructor of grammar and composition. James is a veteran test-prep instructor and is excited share his expertise as an ArborBridge tutor. James strives to meet the immediate goals and needs of his students while simultaneously working to cultivate the discipline and deep inquisitiveness that leads to a lifetime of achievement—educational and otherwise.

    In addition to teaching, James is an accomplished pianist and singer. He holds a master’s degree in classical vocal performance from the prestigious College-Conservatory of Music at the University of Cincinnati. As a professional singer, James has worked with such companies as the Santa Fe Opera, Opera at Caramoor, Opera Boston, and the Cincinnati Opera.

    • James pursued fieldwork on microbial marine biology during a six-week research voyage in the South Pacific Ocean.
    • He holds a citation in French from Harvard University and spent a summer in Paris studying French art and literature.

    Fun Facts

    • James is an avid lover of the outdoors and is an accomplished skier, sailor, and cyclist.
    • He worked as a production assistant in the remake of the Lone Ranger with Johnny Depp.
