    About Stephanie

Stephanie is a first-year medical student at the University of Washington in Seattle, a top-five U.S. medical school. She graduated cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from Washington and Lee University, where she was also a merit-based Lee Scholar. With hopes to one day work in global women’s health, Stephanie is a veteran tutor with almost a decade of experience preparing students for college admissions exams and other high-level academic needs.

As a high school student, Stephanie scored a 2300 (out of 2400) on the SAT and earned perfect scores of 5 on the AP exams in Literature, Biology, U.S. History, World History, and Calculus AB. She was also valedictorian of her high school class and the only person in her class to earn a perfect, non-scaled GPA of 4.0. In college, she was captain of the varsity equestrian team, Recruitment Chair of the Chi Omega sorority, and Biology Chair of Women in Technology and Science. She also completed a summer public health internship in Uganda and studied French literature and art history abroad in Paris.

As an SAT/ACT, biology, and literature tutor, Stephanie believes in working with students and families to identify, evaluate, and monitor skills needing improvement. She is also an advocate for the importance of developing strong critical thinking and reading skills, as reading ability affects not just reading comprehension, but also students’ abilities to solve science and math problems, take tests, and write clear essays. She loves seeing students grow not just in their knowledge base and their abilities, but also in their self-confidence, helping them gain a passion for learning and growth.

    Noteworthy Accomplishments

    • Along with covering standard test prep content, Stephanie recently coached a highly unmotivated SAT student through attitude changes that eventually earned an improvement of over 200 points.
