ArborBridge is pleased to announce a spectacular addition to its corps of tutors and curriculum developers. Longtime tutor and accomplished scholar Dr. Megan Stubbendeck joins ArborBridge as an Associate Director of Instruction.
Stubbendeck will serve as a master tutor for students online and in the New York City area. She will also contribute to the development of ArborBridge’s curriculum for the new SAT, which will debut in 2016.
“I am excited to join such an innovative and dynamic team,” said Subbendeck. “ArborBridge’s focus on a finely-tuned curriculum that can address the strengths and weaknesses of such a diverse group of students is unparalleled in the industry.”
A seven-year veteran of the test preparation industry, Stubbendeck was first drawn to the test prep industry after seeing the importance of college-readiness in the classes that she taught at the University of Virginia. She earned her PhD in History there and taught for three years in the History Department, focusing on American history. An expert on criminal justice and race relations, Stubbendeck wrote her dissertation on the politics of crime and street gangs in late-20th century American cities.
Stubbendeck brings many years of experience as both an Elite Instructor and the Coordinator of Instructor Development at Revolution Prep. In those roles, Stubbendeck developed new approaches to standardized testing on a variety of exams, including the SAT, ACT, PSAT, ISEE, SSAT, SAT Subject Tests, IB’s, AP’s, TOEFL, and IGCSE. She also facilitated programs to help parents understand the testing process and to help them support students’ learning processes.
