In a few weeks, the world’s community of international college counselors will be traveling from their respective countries and continents to Tampa, Florida, for the annual conference of the Overseas Association for College Admissions Counseling July 8-10. Click here for more details on the conference.
ArborBridge will be there too, as we have been every year since our inception. We pride ourselves on serving the international student community and look forward to meeting and reuniting with many of the counselors and college reps who will be attending.
We invite those of you who will be in Tampa to join us for a few highlights:
Session: School Counseling & Independent Counseling
ArborBridge has worked with students in over 40 countries—and counting—and is fortunate to have many friends around the world. Some speak English, some speak Mandarin. Some are high school students, others are school principals. Some are high school college counselors, others are independent college counselors. We love when people are friends with us, and we also want them to be friends with each other.
That’s one reason why ArborBridge’s Josh Stephens—along with OACAC members Kristin Dreazen, Josh Russo, and Katy So—has organized and will be participating in a conference session on the relationship between independent counselors and school counselors in the international setting.
Entitled, “Why Can’t We Be Friends: A Discussion on Utilizing the Collective Power of Admission Counselors, School Counselors, and Independents in the International Setting,” the session seeks to promote dialogue between two groups of professionals who share the same goal: helping international students navigate the college application process and gain entry to the colleges that are best for them.
The session will include audience participation, Q&A, and the results of a survey sent to OACAC members about independent counseling. We invite counselors of all stripes to attend!
Please join us at a prime time:
Session 3
Wednesday, July 9, 1:15-2:30 p.m.

ArborBridge Exhibit Booth: Tutor Talk and Demonstrations
This will be the first year that OACAC has invited sponsors to set up booths in the exhibit hall. ArborBridge’s conference delegates are looking forward to the usual learning, hobnobbing, and carousing at the conference. We’re also excited to discuss our tutoring services in-depth, particularly presenting computer-based demonstrations of our online tutoring platform.
Managing Director Kate Ballard-Rosa, the architect of ArborBridge’s test preparation curriculum, and Director of Domestic Development Eric Rath will be there—with laptops and iPads in hand—to explain why ArborBridge offers the most efficient, effective test preparation in the world.
Silent Auction: SAT/ACT Tutoring Program
